Wanting to adopt a dog?
Before thinking about adopting a dog, please have a little read through this section of the website. It details a few things you need to consider before applying.
If you’ve scrolled down this far its a good sign, you are clearly a animal lover who wants to make the life changing decision to adopt yourself a furry friend. Before you make a decision with just your heart please remember its important to consider whether you have enough time, space and money!
Have you considered your lifestyle? Do you work? Do you frequently go on holiday? Are you able to care for an animal for its whole life?
Have you considered your financial status? People like to say that dogs only need love in life and they would be happy, that is in-fact a lie! Of course they need unconditional love but they also need food, bedding, grooming, pet insurance, pet boarding fees for when you want to go on holiday. DONT FORGET the unexpected vet trips that need to be paid out.
Have you considered your time? Dogs need to be exercised regularly which includes walks, play and genetic fulfilment. This will need to be done everyday. Raining outside? Dave still needs to go out. Extremely hot outside? Dave is still going to need his needs met no matter the weather.
Have you considered the on-going training and development of a dog? You need to set clear rules and boundaries from the get go, dogs need to be well socialised do you know how to properly socialise a dog? will you have the time and patience to give up to train a dog?
